Donny van de Beek on the Verge of Leaving Manchester United for Girona

Donny van de Beek's time at Manchester United is nearing its end, with the Dutch midfielder reportedly on the verge of a move to La Liga side Girona.
After struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford since his arrival in 2020, van de Beek is set to join Girona for a fee of €5 million, with potential add-ons reaching €20 million. Girona are eager to bolster their midfield following the departure of Aleix Garcia to Bayer Leverkusen.
Though van de Beek was a key player in Ajax's run to the Champions League semi-finals under current Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, he has only made 62 appearances for United in four years, scoring two goals. Loan spells at Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt also failed to revive his career.
With Girona needing midfield reinforcements, and van de Beek seeking a fresh start, this move appears to be a sensible solution for both parties. This transfer marks the end of a disappointing chapter in van de Beek's career at Old Trafford.
