Spain boss slams fans who booed Cucurella in Euro 2024 semi-final

Spain’s manager, Luis de la Fuente, has condemned the German fans who booed Marc Cucurella throughout the team’s semi-final victory over France in Munich. He stated that this behavior was not representative of German society. The booing was aimed at Cucurella following a controversial incident in the quarter-final match against Germany where the Chelsea left-back appeared to make a handball in the penalty area. Although the referee didn’t award a penalty, many German fans felt that a penalty should have been awarded, and they expressed their displeasure towards Cucurella during the semi-final match.

De la Fuente, however, brushed off the booing, saying that it only served as motivation for Cucurella and the team.
The manager was also asked about a potential final matchup with England, but he emphasized that Spain is focused on their own performance and not their potential opponents. He added that he was proud of the team's journey and their determination to bring Spain back to the forefront of the sport.
