Real Madrid Eyes Laporte as Ancelotti Discusses Mbappe's Role

Real Madrid is reportedly pursuing former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte in a bid to bolster their defense. Following a summer marked by high-profile signings, including Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain and Brazilian wonderkid Endrick, Los Blancos are now turning their attention to Laporte. The Spanish international, who currently plays for Al-Nassr, impressed during Spain's Euro 2024 triumph, prompting Madrid President Florentino Perez to consider a transfer.

Laporte's move to Al-Nassr last year for £23.5 million raised eyebrows, but his exceptional performances have not gone unnoticed. Real Madrid faces a challenge, as Al-Nassr is keen to retain the defender, who is under contract until June 2026. Nevertheless, Perez's determination to secure top targets suggests a persistent pursuit.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has shed light on how he plans to integrate Mbappe into the squad. Speaking on John Obi Mikel’s Obi One podcast, Ancelotti emphasized the importance of player mobility in the attack. He stated that Mbappe will primarily play upfront but highlighted the flexibility and movement among attacking players like Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, and Rodrygo. Ancelotti aims to utilize their versatility to maximize the team's offensive potential.
With Mbappe's signing and potential defensive reinforcements like Laporte, Real Madrid looks poised for a formidable season ahead.
