Liverpool Dominates Manchester United in Pre-Season Derby

Liverpool showcased their ruthlessness in a pre-season friendly, defeating Manchester United 3-0 in South Carolina. Fabio Carvalho, Curtis Jones, and Kostas Tsimikas were the scorers for Arne Slot’s side, as they claimed bragging rights in this derby clash.

In a match marked by an energetic start and a vibrant atmosphere, Liverpool opened the scoring early. Fabio Carvalho spun past Casemiro and saw his deflected shot find the net. Despite Manchester United's attempts to respond, including several near-misses by Marcus Rashford, the Red Devils couldn't capitalize on their chances.

Liverpool doubled their lead when Mohamed Salah bypassed Toby Collyer to deliver a low cross, perfectly set up for Curtis Jones to finish. Rashford, who had been an injury doubt before the game, was replaced at half-time by Scott McTominay. McTominay's efforts were thwarted by Liverpool's defense and substitute goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros.
The Reds sealed their victory when Salah, seemingly offside, assisted Conor Bradley, leading to a shot by Diogo Jota. Andre Onana's fumble allowed Tsimikas to pounce on the rebound, making it 3-0.
Erik ten Hag's Manchester United will look to regroup with the return of key players Bruno Fernandes, Lisandro Martinez, and new signing Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the Community Shield. Meanwhile, Liverpool will continue their preparations with upcoming matches against Sevilla and Las Palmas.
