Liverpool Reject Southampton's Offer for Fabio Carvalho

Liverpool have turned down a £15 million bid from Southampton for their Portuguese forward, Fabio Carvalho. The 21-year-old has been on Southampton’s radar for a while, but their offer has been deemed insufficient by Liverpool.
Carvalho, who joined Liverpool from Fulham in the summer of 2022, has impressed during the club’s pre-season tour in the United States, scoring in victories against Arsenal and Manchester United. New Liverpool manager Arne Slot sees Carvalho fitting into his 4-2-3-1 formation, but the club would only consider selling him for a significantly higher fee.
Despite his strong pre-season showing, Carvalho might still face limited first-team opportunities once Liverpool’s other forwards, including Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo, return from their extended breaks following the Copa America and Euro 2024. The young forward previously spent time on loan at RB Leipzig and Hull City, where he scored nine goals in 20 games for Hull. While another loan move could be an option, it would be a last resort.
Other clubs have also shown interest in Carvalho, but for now, Liverpool are holding onto their promising young talent.
