Chelsea and Atletico Madrid Near Completion of Gallagher and Omorodion Transfers

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are on the verge of finalizing deals for midfielder Conor Gallagher and forward Samu Omorodion, with both clubs agreeing to a fee of £38 million (€42 million) for each player. Gallagher has been given the green light to travel to Madrid for a medical, and he is expected to sign a five-year contract with Atletico.

Despite both deals being of the same value, Chelsea has clarified that the negotiations for Gallagher and Omorodion are separate. Omorodion impressed last season by scoring eight goals in 35 LaLiga appearances while on loan at Deportivo Alaves.
The transactions are understood to be close to completion, with all parties working towards finalizing the details. Atletico Madrid has also reached personal terms with Julian Alvarez from Manchester City, whose £82 million move is crucial for their squad planning.
Gallagher's decision to join Atletico comes after rejecting a larger bid from Aston Villa and interest from other Premier League clubs, including Tottenham. The agreement with Atletico was made after contract discussions with Chelsea stalled.
These moves are part of a busy transfer window for both clubs as they look to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season. The summer transfer window in the Premier League officially closes on August 30 at 11 pm UK time.
