Sergi Roberto Departs Barcelona After 19 Years

Barcelona has officially announced that their captain and midfielder, Sergi Roberto, has left the club. Joining the renowned La Masia academy at just 14, Roberto made his first-team debut in November 2010. Over his career with Barcelona, he made 373 appearances and scored 19 goals, including a crucial winner in the dramatic 6-5 Champions League victory against Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
The 32-year-old's contract expired at the end of June, marking the end of his tenure at the club. During his time at Barcelona, Roberto amassed an impressive collection of trophies, including two Champions League titles, seven La Liga championships, six Copa del Rey victories, and two Club World Cups.
Known for his versatility, Roberto frequently played as a right-back, contributing significantly to the team. His departure leaves a notable gap in Barcelona's squad as they prepare for the upcoming season.
