Emerson Royal Joins AC Milan from Tottenham in £13 Million Deal

AC Milan has confirmed the signing of Emerson Royal from Tottenham Hotspur for a reported fee of £13 million. The Brazilian full-back has signed a four-year contract with the Rossoneri, which includes an option for a 12-month extension. Emerson expressed his gratitude to Tottenham via Instagram, marking the end of his three-year tenure in North London, where he made 101 appearances and scored four goals.

The transfer concludes a prolonged saga, with Milan having pursued Emerson throughout the summer. He is expected to debut in Milan's Serie A opener against Torino. Tottenham acknowledged his departure with a statement wishing him well for the future.

Emerson, who originally joined Spurs from Barcelona in 2021, has also earned 10 caps for Brazil. His move to Milan sees him don the No. 22 shirt, becoming the club's third summer signing after Alvaro Morata and Strahinja Pavlovic.
