Bentancur suffered a serious head injury

Tottenham drew 1-1 with Leicester City in the opening round of the Premier League, but the match was overshadowed by a serious head injury to Bentancur, who was later stretchered off the field.

In the 72nd minute, Bentancur collided head-to-head with Leicester City’s No. 7, Fatawu, during an aerial duel. When medical personnel arrived on the pitch, Bentancur appeared to be unconscious for a brief moment, with visible bleeding from his head. Fortunately, after a six-minute delay in the match, Bentancur was seen sitting up to receive treatment and was given oxygen before being stretchered off.



Post-match, manager Ange Postecoglou revealed: “He’s up and communicating. It’s a head injury, so we’ll let the medical team handle it, but he’s conscious and able to talk. We need to proceed with caution now.”
