Phil Foden and Cole Palmer Shine at PFA Awards

Phil Foden of Manchester City has been awarded the Professional Footballers' Association men's player of the year, while Chelsea's Cole Palmer has taken home the young player of the year award. This marks the first time since the 2009-10 season that both awards have been won by English players, with Wayne Rooney and James Milner being the previous recipients.
Foden, who scored 19 goals in 35 Premier League appearances last season, helped City secure their fourth consecutive Premier League title. At 23, he became the youngest player to win six league titles and was also recognized as the Premier League player of the season and the Football Writers' Association footballer of the year. He expressed his gratitude, highlighting the significance of being recognized by fellow professionals.
Cole Palmer, meanwhile, had an outstanding season with Chelsea, scoring 22 goals in 34 league appearances. His performance earned him a spot in the England squad for Euro 2024, where he scored in the final against Spain. Palmer edged out competition from talented young players such as Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho.
The Premier League team of the year featured a strong presence from Manchester City and Arsenal players, with notable inclusions like Erling Haaland, Rodri, and Martin Odegaard. Other players like Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk and Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins were also recognized in the team.
