Atalanta Midfielder Koopmeiners Joins Juventus, Will Wear Jersey Number 8

We are pleased to announce that Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners has officially become a member of the Bianconeri! The 26-year-old player has transferred from Atalanta to Juventus and signed a five-year contract with the team, valid until June 30, 2029. The transfer fee for this deal is €51.3 million, payable over four financial years, with an additional potential fee of up to €3.4 million. Moreover, depending on the achievement of specific performance targets, there is a further possible bonus of up to €6 million.

Koopmeiners was born on February 28, 1998, in Castricum, Netherlands, and grew up in the youth academy of AZ Alkmaar. He made his professional debut in the 2017/2018 season and quickly became the core of the team's midfield at the age of just 19. Known for his exceptional shooting skills, he frequently scored goals and also became the team's penalty taker.

The 2020/21 season marked a significant turning point in Koopmeiners' career, with his performance of 15 goals in 32 matches earning him the Eredivisie Player of the Season award, which attracted the attention of Atalanta. Over the next three years, he made 129 appearances for Atalanta, contributing 29 goals and 15 assists.

Thanks to his outstanding performances and consistent statistics, Koopmeiners has secured his place across various levels of the Dutch national team. Starting from the U17 team, he made his senior national team debut in October 2020. To date, he has made 21 appearances for the Netherlands senior national team.
