37-year-old veteran Suarez announces his retirement from the Uruguay national team

Suárez said, "Friday will be my last match representing the Uruguay national team. This is something I have been thinking about and analyzing for a while, and now is the right time. The 37-year-old Suárez has represented the Uruguay national team in 142 matches, scoring 69 goals and providing 39 assists. He has participated in five World Cup qualifiers and four World Cups and won the 2011 Copa América with the team.
