Schira: Lazio remains interested in Cherki

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, Lazio is still interested in Lyon's young forward Rayan Cherki. The 21-year-old Cherki's current contract with Lyon is set to expire in June next year. This summer, he was believed to be on the verge of a transfer, but no suitable offers materialized.

Schira's report now claims that Lazio, who were linked with Cherki this summer, remain interested in the French U23 international. Cherki reportedly rejected an offer from Premier League club Fulham during the summer transfer window. Last season, Cherki made 39 appearances for Lyon, starting 23 of them, contributing 3 goals and 9 assists. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €25 million.
