Official Announcement: Pochettino Becomes New Head Coach of the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team. The U.S. Soccer Federation has officially announced the appointment of Pochettino as the new head coach of the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team. The Argentine coach will lead the team in the 2026 World Cup hosted by the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Interim head coach Varas will guide the team for their upcoming match against New Zealand.
The 52-year-old Pochettino began his coaching career in La Liga with Espanyol, then moved to the Premier League where he coached Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur. After achieving success in England, Pochettino went on to manage Paris Saint-Germain in France. In the summer of 2023, he returned to the Premier League to take charge of Chelsea but left Stamford Bridge this summer. Now, he will lead the U.S. National Team.
