Dyche: This is absolute nonsense, don’t question my character

So far this season, Everton has suffered four consecutive defeats and sits at the bottom of the Premier League. There are rumors suggesting that when Dyche signed with Everton, his contract included a £5 million early termination clause, from which he would profit. In response, Dyche dismissed these claims as nonsense.
Dyche said, "I need to clarify that there seems to be a narrative circulating about my contract. This is utter nonsense. My contract is expiring day by day, that's the end of the story. You might as well throw that contract away. I think it's wrong because these fabricated stories create a buzz, and I get dragged into it even when it has nothing to do with me. The fact is, my contract is ticking down every minute. That's it."
"The rumor is that regardless of whether I'm at Everton or not, whether my contract has one day left or ten years, I'll still get paid. That's absolutely ridiculous. Judge me by my work, which is fine, but don't try to question my character because that's not fair, and it's simply not true."
"They told me they wanted the truth, so I gave them the truth. We can't just flip a switch and fix everything. Everton football still has a long way to go to get back to where it wants to be, to where it should be."
