Manchester City midfielder Rodri will face a long-term absence due to a serious knee injury

According to The Athletic's renowned journalist David Ornstein, Manchester City midfielder Rodri will face a long-term absence due to a serious knee injury.
Rodri suffered a severe knee injury during the Premier League's 5th-round match, a 2-2 draw against Arsenal, and will be sidelined for quite some time. Ornstein stated that the Spanish midfielder could potentially miss the rest of the season. In the 21st minute of the match, Rodri and Thomas Partey went down during a corner contest, and Rodri immediately showed signs of pain. Some of his teammates quickly signaled that he needed medical attention.
Rodri was escorted off the pitch by two Manchester City medical staff, and post-match examinations confirmed the severity of his injury. He will undergo further tests in Spain, but there is no official recovery timetable yet. However, sources close to the player suggest he could be out for the remainder of the season.
This match marked Rodri's first Premier League start of the season. Previously, he was substituted at halftime in Spain’s European Championship final win over England this summer due to a hamstring injury. He only returned to training the Wednesday before the Premier League kicked off.
