Erik ten Hag Voices Frustration Over Manchester United's Inconsistency Ahead of Tottenham Clash

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his impatience with the team's ongoing inconsistency as they prepare for a crucial Premier League match against Tottenham. After a promising start with victories over Southampton and Barnsley, the Red Devils faltered, drawing 0-0 against Crystal Palace and 1-1 with FC Twente in the Europa League. Ten Hag criticized his players' performance against Twente, emphasizing that the inconsistency is a significant concern for the club.

In his remarks, ten Hag stated, "Of course, it's not good behaviour from me, I am impatient, I want to go straight forward." He acknowledged the successes of the previous two seasons but insisted that the team must work diligently for continued progress. A key issue for Manchester United this season has been their inability to score goals. Despite a strong showing in the Carabao Cup, where they scored seven against Barnsley, their Premier League performance has been lacking, with only five goals in five matches, making their scoring record one of the lowest in the league.
Ten Hag pinpointed the need for improvement in goal-scoring, stating, “We have players across the team who have the ability to score, that is clear, you see all the opportunities we are creating but we are not scoring enough." Heading into the match against Tottenham, ten Hag confirmed that the squad does not face any new injury concerns, though Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro, and Tyrell Malacia remain unavailable. The pressure is mounting on ten Hag and his squad to turn their fortunes around, especially with a high-stakes encounter against a formidable Tottenham side on the horizon.
