Durant will not sign a contract extension with the Suns during the offseason

NBA insider Shams Charania revealed information about Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns' contract renewal discussions during an appearance on ESPN.
Shams stated that both sides are considering future options: "I've heard that Durant will not be signing an extension at this time, as he still has two years left on his contract... By Monday (October 21) — the deadline — the only extension he could sign this offseason would be a one-year deal worth $60 million. However, next summer, he will be eligible for a two-year extension worth up to $120 million."
"So, this is where Durant and the Suns are really focused. Both are aiming for a two-year deal, rather than a one-year extension. Durant has publicly and privately expressed his love for Phoenix. The Suns clearly want this team to succeed, and they are fully committed to this season, just like Kevin Durant."
Last season, Durant played all 75 games for the Suns, averaging 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 52.3%.
