Official: Twente fined €83,000 and partially closed for fans' racist behavior

UEFA has officially announced that Twente has been fined and sanctioned with partial stadium closure due to the misconduct of their fans during last week’s Europa League group stage Round 3 match, where they lost 0-2 at home to Lazio.

According to UEFA's statement, violations by Twente fans and players during the match included throwing objects, displaying inappropriate banners, engaging in racist or discriminatory behavior, and team misconduct (with five or more players involved). As a result, Twente has been fined €40,000 for racist behavior by their fans and ordered to close 2,000 adjacent seats in the west stand of their stadium for their next European home match. Additionally, Twente has been fined €10,000 for displaying inappropriate banners and €33,125 for fans throwing objects.
