AC Milan's Camarda to Start Against Cagliari in Place of Injured Morata

AC Milan's teenage forward Francesco Camarda is set to make his first start for the club in their Serie A match against Cagliari, stepping in for the injured Alvaro Morata. Morata sustained a head injury during training on Thursday, which led to him being taken for an MRI scan. Although no serious damage was found, the Spanish striker will not participate in the upcoming away game.

Milan manager Paulo Fonseca described the incident as unexpected, noting that Morata collided with teammate Strahinja Pavlovic during a training exercise. While Morata is reportedly fine, he is not fit enough to play at this time. Interestingly, Morata has been included in Spain's Nations League squad, a decision that caught Fonseca by surprise, as he emphasized that there is a protocol for players who have suffered head injuries that requires a 10-day rest period.

With Morata unavailable and Luka Jovic also dealing with fitness issues, Fonseca has opted for the 16-year-old Camarda to lead the line against Cagliari. Camarda made history last season as the youngest player to feature in Serie A and has impressed the coaching staff with his training performances.
