The 39-year-old former French international Bafétimbi Gomis has announced his retirement. In September, he left J-League club Kawasaki Frontale as a free agent.

Throughout his career, Gomis played for clubs including Saint-Étienne, Troyes, Lyon, Swansea, Marseille, Galatasaray, Al-Hilal, and Kawasaki Frontale. He won the AFC Champions League twice with Al-Hilal and lifted the French Cup and French Super Cup with Lyon. Gomis also represented the French national team 12 times, scoring 3 goals, and participated in tournaments such as the UEFA European Championship and European qualifiers.
