Roma wanted to hire Montella as head coach, but the Turkish Football Federation rejected the move

According to reports, Roma had hoped to bring in former player Vincenzo Montella as their new coach, but this idea seems unlikely to materialize.
Italian media outlet Calciomercato reports that Roma's shortlist for a new coach includes both foreign and Italian names. Roma have been in contact with their former player Montella, but in order to release him from his role with the Turkish national team, Roma would need to pay a release fee equivalent to six months of his salary. At the same time, the president of the Turkish Football Federation has ruled out this possibility.
Roberto Mancini is also not an option that Roma has abandoned. After the heavy defeat to Fiorentina, he has offered himself to Roma, but the Friedkin family is considering the cost. The former Italy national team coach is asking for a salary exceeding €6 million.
As of now, inviting Massimiliano Allegri is merely a suggestion for Roma, while Daniele De Rossi’s return is not on the agenda, and they have not reached out to former Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri.
