--------------------------------------
Bologna
Vincenzo Italiano does not have too many injuries to worry about ahead of this UEFA Champions League clash. Nicolo Cambiaghi and Oussama El Azzouzi are long-term absentees for Bologna, although the only current absentee is midfielder Michel Aebischer, who has a hernia problem.

Jhon Lucumi and Sam Beukema are expected to start this game as the central defenders, while Stefan Posch and Charalampos Lykogiannis will be the two full-backs.

Remo Freuler and Lewis Ferguson will feature in central midfield, while Giovanni Fabbian will play further in the advanced role. Riccardo Orsolini will start on the right wing, with Dan Ndoye on the left, as Thjis Dallinga leads the line for Bologna against Borussia Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund
Much like Bologna, Borussia Dortmund do not have many problems. Niklas Sule is the only injured player on the squad, with the defender set to return next month from his ankle problem. Ramy Bensebaini will also miss out with a suspension after picking up a yellow card against Barcelona, which happened to be his third of the league phase.

Waldemar Anton and Nico Schlotterbeck are likely to feature in central defence, with Yan Couto and Julian Ryerson set for duties in the full-back roles. Marcel Sabitzer will partner Pascal Gross in central midfield, with Felix Nmecha and Emre Can set for bench roles for this one.

Nuri Sahin will prefer Julian Brandt in the advanced midfield role, with Karim Adeyemi starting on the right side of the front three. Jamie Gittens has attracted the interest of Chelsea, but he will continue with the team on the left side, while Serhou Guirassy leads the line for Borussia Dortmund against Bologna.

Bologna possible starting lineup:
Skorupski; Lykogiannis, Casale, Beukema, Holm; Moro, Freuler, Orsolini, Odgaard, Ndoye; Castro

Borussia Dortmund possible starting lineup:
Kobel; Ryerson, Anton, Schlotterbeck, Kabar; Can, Gross, Nmecha; Brandt, Bynoe-Gittens, Guirassy

Bologna vs Borussia Dortmund Head-to-Head and Key Numbers
Borussia Dortmund have a slight edge over Bologna and have won the only match played between the two teams, securing their victory in a friendly encounter. The two teams have never played against each other in an official fixture in Europe.
Bologna have played only two matches against opponents from Germany in European competitions, with both games taking place against Vorwarts in the 1970-71 season and ending in draws.
Borussia Dortmund are unbeaten in their last three matches against teams from Italy in the UEFA Champions League - their longest such run in the history of the competition.
Borussia Dortmund have lost only three of their last 16 matches in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League but did lose their previous such game against Barcelona by a 3-2 margin.

Prediction: Bologna 0-1 Borussia Dortmund
It has been a tough start for the year for Dortmund and with the pressure on their boss, we think they will grab a win that will keep Sahin in his job at least a little longer. We think that the visitors will edge a close encounter against a Bologna side that have found it difficult to score goals in the Champions League this season.
