Sandy Walsh Officially Joins Yokohama F. Marinos

Yokohama F. Marinos has officially confirmed the signing of Sandy Walsh, the right-back of the Indonesian national team. Walsh will now embark on his journey in Japan's top football league, the J1 League.
The Japanese club announced the news through their official social media channels, expressing excitement over his arrival. Speculation about Walsh’s move to Yokohama F. Marinos had been circulating for the past few days. His contract with Belgian club KV Mechelen was set to expire in the summer of 2025, and discussions were underway to terminate it sooner.
At Mechelen, the 29-year-old defender has not seen much playing time this season, featuring in only seven matches across all competitions.
Walsh joined Mechelen in 2020, making 133 appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and providing 15 assists. As of now, there is no official word on the length of his contract with Yokohama or the transfer fee.
However, it is clear that Walsh will soon be playing in Japan's J1 League, which will kick off its 2025 season on February 14, with Yokohama’s first match scheduled for February 15 against Niigata.
