OFFICIAL: Leicester City secure the signing of Arsenal youngster Akolbire

Leicester City appear to have secured the signing of Arsenal youngster Bless Akolbire, as his name now appears on their Under-21 squad list. Following the January transfer window, Premier League clubs were required to update their 25-man squads, with no restrictions on U21 players.



Akolbire, 18, is now listed under Leicester’s U21 team, having been left out of Arsenal’s squad, indicating that the move has been finalized. The midfielder has already made three appearances for Leicester’s U18s, including a recent 75-minute performance in a 3-1 defeat to Chelsea.

Previously, he was on trial with Leicester’s U18s in November before briefly returning to Arsenal’s youth setup. Akolbire, who initially joined Arsenal from Colchester United, even had the opportunity to train with the Gunners’ first team.
