Manchester United
Ruben Amorim has a new roster issue hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture. The Manchester United manager might be bereft of the services of as many as ten first-team players on Sunday.

Patrick Dorgu played in the UEFA Europa League earlier this week. However, the Dane will serve a suspension on Sunday after seeing red in Manchester United’s most recent Premier League clash with Ipswich Town. Meanwhile, Amorim is sweating over Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte’s fitness, with the duo recovering from minor issues.

The duo will face late fitness tests to determine their availability. However, Altay Bayindir (unspecified), Tom Heaton (knock), Jonny Evans (lower back), Lisandro Martinez (knee), Luke Shaw (calf), Toby Collyer (muscle), Kobbie Mainoo (muscle), Mason Mount (hamstring), and Amad Diallo (ankle) remain on the sidelines.

Andre Onana will take his spot between the sticks, with Manchester United lining up in a 3-4-2-1 formation in front of him vs Arsenal on Sunday. The central defensive unit should feature Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Victor Lindelof. Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot are automatic picks for the wing-back spots.

The wide duo will provide the width in the final third and protect the centre-backs. As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes in the central areas, although Ugarte will start if he is fit and available. Finally, Rasmus Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and Joshua Zirkzee will form the offensive trifecta.

Arsenal
Unlike his counterpart in the Manchester United dugout, Mikel Arteta has greeted a positive update on the team news front ahead of the trip to Old Trafford. The Arsenal manager will be without five first-team players on Sunday.

Myles Lewis-Skelly has served his suspension and will be available to take on Manchester United on Sunday. However, Takehiro Tomiyasu (knee), Bukayo Saka (hamstring), Gabriel Martinelli (thigh), Gabriel Jesus (knee), and Kai Havertz (hamstring) remain on the sidelines.

David Raya is an automatic pick between the sticks, with Arsenal lining up in a 4-3-3 formation in front of him vs Manchester United on Sunday. The backline should feature Jurrien Timber, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

As for the midfield unit, there is no looking past Thomas Partey, Declan Rice, and Martin Odegaard. The latter will provide the creative impetus from the middle of the park, while Rice will be the engine for his team. Finally, Mikel Merino should start as the makeshift striker, with Leandro Trossard and Ethan Nwaneri completing the numbers in the offensive trifecta.

Manchester United possible starting lineup:
Onana; Yoro, De Ligt, Lindelof; Mazraoui, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Zirkzee, Garnacho; Hojlund

Arsenal possible starting lineup:
Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard

Manchester United vs Arsenal Head-to-Head and Key Numbers

Manchester United have lost their last four matches against Arsenal in the Premier League - their longest such streak against the Gunners in the history of the competition.
Arsenal won this exact fixture by a 1-0 scoreline in the Premier League last season and have not won consecutive games against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the top flight since 1979.
Arsenal have found the back of the net in each of their last 10 matches away from home against Manchester United in the Premier League - they had failed to score a goal in 12 of their 22 such games preceding this run.

Prediction: Manchester United 0-1 Arsenal
After two toothless Premier League performances and a dazzling Champions League display, confidently predicting which version of Arsenal's attack will show up on Sunday is an impossible ask, but a defence-heavy Man United should not afford the visitors as much time and space as PSV did. However, the hosts are working with two fewer days' rest, have minimal options for change and will likely see their ineffective strikers bullied by Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, so yet another Old Trafford win and clean sheet for Arsenal is the only result we can envisage.
