--------------------------------
Brazil and Colombia will face off in a key match on matchday 13 of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. Both teams had a challenging November campaign, falling behind in the standings, but they remain on track to secure a spot in the tournament next summer.

Team Analysis:
The expanded World Cup format has significantly benefited South American teams, particularly Brazil, who might have struggled to qualify under the previous 32-team structure. Currently sitting in fifth place, Brazil would have only secured a playoff spot in the old system, with Paraguay close behind, but the new format allows the top six teams to advance directly.
Colombia, after an impressive unbeaten run under Nestor Lorenzo in his first 25 matches, has struggled recently, losing four of the last seven games. Their Copa América final defeat may have contributed to their decline in form, but several concerning results suggest deeper issues beyond mere complacency.

Player Situation:
Neymar was set to return to the Brazil squad after a 17-month absence but had to withdraw due to injury, with Endrick stepping in as his replacement. Several notable players, including Lucas Paquetá, Ederson, and Igor Jesus, were left out, while Lucas Moura and Oscar, now playing for São Paulo again, were also not included.
Brazil faces multiple injury concerns, with ÉderMilitão, Bremer, and Danilo missing from the defense, while EdersonMoraes and Richarlison are also unavailable due to recent setbacks.
For Colombia, James Rodríguez, who made a name for himself in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, is expected to captain the team. Despite a dip in form at Liverpool, Luis Díaz remains a key player, while JhonDurán's selection was unaffected by his move to Saudi Arabia. Crystal Palace’s Daniel Muñoz, one of the squad’s standout performers, recently had a weekend off alongside Jefferson Lerma due to their club's absence from domestic competition.

Result Prediction:
Playing in Brazil was once one of the toughest challenges in international football, but the Selecao have struggled at home, collecting only 11 points from six matches. This offers Colombia a reason for optimism ahead of their encounter.
However, Brazil has shown some improvement recently, earning eight points in their last four matches. With a full-strength squad at Dorival’s disposal, they are expected to have the edge against a Colombian team that has been struggling in recent games.

Predicted Result: Brazil 2-1 Colombia
