Jordi Amat's Contract with JDT Nearing End, Caught in the Sights of Two Top Liga 1 Clubs

Jordi Amat is reportedly drawing interest from two Indonesian Liga 1 clubs as his contract with Johor DarulTa'zim (JDT) approaches its conclusion. The future of the Indonesian-Spanish defender at JDT remains uncertain. Amat first joined the Malaysian club in July 2022 after being signed from Belgian side KAS Eupen on a three-year deal.
As his 33rd birthday approaches, the end of his contract is fast approaching, and so far, there has been no indication that an extension will be offered. Despite this, he has continued to earn the trust of his coach, serving as the team's captain. He has made 15 appearances this season and scored two goals.
However, he faced stiff competition from other players during JDT's campaign in the 2024-2025 AFC Champions League. Amat featured in just four matches in the prestigious continental competition.
This situation has sparked rumors that he may leave Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in the upcoming season. Malaysian media outlet Makanbola has reported that Amat might move to Indonesia's Liga 1, with two major clubs said to be targeting him.
Those clubs are Bali United and Persib Bandung, and this news has generated significant buzz among Indonesian football fans. There are even rumors suggesting that a player of mixed heritage could be joining the Liga 1 scene soon.
