Ivan Jurić Departs Southampton After Historic Premier League Relegation

Southampton has parted ways with manager Ivan Jurić following the club's relegation from the Premier League. The team's 3-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur confirmed their drop, with a record-breaking seven matches still remaining in the season.
Under Jurić, the club is on track to finish with the lowest points total in Premier League history, surpassing Derby County's infamous 11-point record from the 2007-08 season. Jurić, who took over from Russell Martin in December, struggled with just one win in 14 matches, suffering 12 defeats during his brief tenure.
Previously sacked by Roma after a disappointing stint, Jurić's efforts to prevent relegation fell short, and Southampton's hierarchy decided to make a change. Simon Rusk will take over as interim manager for the final seven games, with veteran midfielder Adam Lallana assisting him.
The club expressed gratitude for Jurić and his staff’s dedication but emphasized the need to focus on the future, with important decisions to be made in the upcoming summer transfer window.
