Real Madrid is reportedly preparing for a major shake-up in the upcoming summer transfer window, with Manchester City’s star striker ErlingHaaland emerging as a top target.
Since arriving in the Premier League, Haaland has quickly become a record-breaking phenomenon, helping City secure numerous titles while showcasing his lethal finishing ability. Naturally, his performances have caught the attention of elite European clubs—Real Madrid now among them.
According to reports from Sky Sports Germany, the Spanish giants are laying the groundwork for a potential move to bring Haaland to the Santiago Bernabéu. This ambitious pursuit appears to be linked to ongoing uncertainty surrounding Vinicius Junior’s contract situation. Talks between the Brazilian winger and the club have reportedly stalled, leading Madrid to consider selling him during the summer window.
If Vinicius does leave, the plan would be to shift KylianMbappé—who is widely expected to join Madrid—into his natural position on the left wing. That adjustment would create an opening for a central striker, and Haaland is viewed as an ideal fit to lead the line in Madrid’s new attacking setup.
However, securing Haaland’s signature won’t be easy. The Norwegian forward recently extended his contract with Manchester City, committing his future to the club until at least 2034. As a result, any potential transfer would likely require a massive fee—reportedly well over €100 million—which could complicate Madrid’s plans.
Despite the obstacles, there are hints that Haaland may be open to the move. He’s long expressed interest in playing in Spain, and if Real Madrid can reach an agreement with City, the door could be open for one of the biggest transfers in recent memory.
