Uncertainty Looms for Milan Stars Except Pulisic and Reijnders

AC Milan is facing a dilemma regarding the future of many of its key players, with the exception of Christian Pulisic and TijjaniReijnders. Both players are expected to stay at the club, despite Milan not qualifying for next season's Champions League. Reijnderssigned a contract extension until 2029 earlier this year, and Pulisic is reportedly set to follow suit with a pay increase, securing his place at San Siro.
However, other prominent Milan players like Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, and Rafael Leao are in uncertain positions. Hernandez and Maignan have been in contract negotiations for several months, but no agreements have been reached yet. Hernandez, in particular, could face a move away, with rumors linking him to a summer transfer, possibly back to Real Madrid. Maignan’s future also hangs in the balance, with Milan offering a pay rise but still not meeting the player’s expectations.
Meanwhile, Leao, who is tied to a long-term contract until 2028, has a hefty release clause of €175m. Although he turned down a big-money offer from the Saudi Pro League earlier this year, his future at Milan remains subject to the offers the club receives in the upcoming transfer window. Despite this, Leao has expressed a desire to stay at Milan, but the situation could evolve depending on the market.
