Modrić Aims to Renew Real Madrid Contract, Uncertain Future

According to Relevo, Luka Modrić is keen to extend his contract with Real Madrid, although formal talks have yet to take place. Despite the uncertainty, many believe he will stay, given his strong ties to the club and consistent performances this season, featuring in 54 matches with 2,667 minutes played, ranking 12th in the squad.
Modrić’s intention is clear: he wants to stay at Real Madrid. His family enjoys life in Madrid, and he hopes to continue playing for the club until at least the 2026 World Cup. Though some at the club worry that his presence might limit younger players’ opportunities, the final decision will likely come at the end of the season.
Regardless of his future at the club, Modrić is set to play in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer, as stipulated in his current contract. If he leaves afterward, it would mark his farewell, but if he stays until the 2025-26 season, he would celebrate his 40th birthday at the Santiago Bernabéu.
