Bruno Fernandes Faces 72-Hour Deadline: Stay at Manchester United or Join Al Hilal’s Mega Deal?

Manchester United is facing a pivotal moment as captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly been given 72 hours to decide his future with the club. This comes in the wake of a massive offer from Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, who are willing to multiply the Portuguese midfielder’s salary significantly. The proposed deal includes a weekly wage of £700,000 and could reach a total value of £200 million over three years if finalized.

Following United’s failure to qualify for European competitions, their worst season since 2015, speculation surrounding Fernandes' departure has intensified. Al Hilal is said to be preparing a transfer bid worth £100 million, contingent upon the player agreeing to personal terms. The financial appeal, paired with United's uncertain trajectory, has placed the midfielder at a career crossroads.

Despite the swirling rumors, United’s manager Ruben Amorim remains adamant that Fernandes is not for sale. The captain’s leadership, consistency, and influence on the pitch are viewed as vital to the club’s rebuilding efforts. Nevertheless, Fernandes has previously hinted that he may consider leaving if the club no longer sees him as essential or needs to generate funds through player sales.

Meanwhile, United is already reshaping its squad. Young talent Alejandro Garnacho may also be on his way out, especially after being left out of the squad in their recent match against Aston Villa. In terms of reinforcements, the club is actively pursuing new signings, including Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton, both of whom carry hefty release clauses.
