Saudi Arabia secured a vital 2-0 away win against Bahrain, causing a significant shift in the Group C standings of the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers. The Green Falcons’ goals came in the first and late second halves, helping them climb back up to third place with 13 points. This victory keeps Saudi Arabia in contention for automatic qualification, as they trail second-placed Australia by just three points with one match remaining. Their upcoming home clash against Australia will be decisive for their qualification hopes.
Meanwhile, Indonesia, who had previously celebrated a narrow 1-0 win over China thanks to a well-executed penalty just before halftime, dropped to fourth place in the group after Saudi Arabia’s win.
