Persebaya Strengthens Midfield with New Signing Milos Raickovic

Persebaya has bolstered their squad by signing Montenegrin defensive midfielder Milos Raickovic, who will replace Gilson Costa in the heart of the team’s midfield. This signing marks their third foreign recruit, following Risto Mitrevski and Gali Freitas. Milos is expected to bring fresh energy and stability to Persebaya’s midfield, potentially partnering with the club’s young talent Toni Firmansyah under coach Eduardo Perez.
Although new to Indonesian football, Milos has a solid background playing in Asian leagues such as the South Korean and Malaysian leagues. His past experience includes facing Persebaya while playing for Sarawak FA in Malaysia, giving him insight into the team’s style and mentality. Interestingly, he previously exchanged jerseys with a Persebaya player during the 2018 preseason, symbolizing a unique connection to the club before officially joining.
Milos also brings valuable international experience, having represented Montenegro at the national level. His proven defensive capabilities and international exposure are seen as key assets to enhance Persebaya’s midfield depth and defensive strength. The club hopes that his presence will help break up opposition attacks and strengthen the overall balance of the team.
Currently, Milos is en route to Surabaya to complete administrative procedures and begin adapting to his new club. Meanwhile, Persebaya continues to pursue additional signings, with particular attention on strengthening the goalkeeper position. The club aims to build a deep and competitive squad capable of performing strongly in both Liga 1 and regional competitions.
