Persija Jakarta Extends Hansamu Yama’s Contract

Persija Jakarta has officially extended the contract of Hansamu Yama, putting an end to speculation about his departure ahead of the 2025–2026 Liga 1 season. The 30-year-old defender, whose contract was set to expire in May 2025, was previously rumored to be returning to Persebaya Surabaya. However, the club confirmed a one-year extension, securing his presence in the squad for another season.
Hansamu’s decision to remain with Persija was influenced by his strong attachment to the club and the sense of belonging he has developed there. Despite receiving offers from other teams, he chose to continue his journey with the Jakarta-based team, reflecting his dedication and loyalty. For him, Persija represents more than just a professional commitment — it has become his second home.
His contract extension follows a commendable return from injury during the 2024–25 season. Although he spent nearly half the season in recovery, Hansamu managed to deliver solid performances once he was back on the pitch. His resilience and reliability at the back were key factors in Persija’s decision to retain him.
This move reflects Persija’s trust in Hansamu's abilities and his value as a veteran presence within the squad. By keeping an experienced and loyal player like him, the club reinforces its defensive depth and maintains leadership both on and off the field ahead of the new season.
