Ferdiansyah Cecep Joins Semen Padang on Loan to Gain Experience

Persib Bandung has officially loaned out young striker Ferdiansyah Cecep to Semen Padang FC for the entire 2025/26 Liga 1 season. The decision aligns with Persib’s strategy to provide more opportunities for its academy graduates to gain valuable match experience. Ferdiansyah was introduced by Semen Padang on July 1, with both clubs confirming the move as part of the player's development pathway.
Despite being part of Persib’s senior squad, Ferdiansyah struggled to secure regular playing time under coach Bojan Hodak, featuring in only seven matches last season. The loan to Semen Padang, now coached by Eduardo Almeida, is seen as an ideal fit due to Almeida’s track record of nurturing young talent. The environment is expected to provide Ferdiansyah with increased minutes and responsibility on the pitch.
Persib management emphasized that this move is part of a long-term investment in youth development. Similar loan strategies have been implemented in the past, including Zalnando’s move to PSIS Semarang and Henhen Herdiana’s loan to Dewa United. These stints are intended to sharpen player readiness before returning to the parent club at a higher level of performance.
For Ferdiansyah, the move signals a fresh chapter in his professional journey. Having once contributed to two championship titles with Persib and previously featured for Indonesia’s U20 national team, he now looks to maximize his time at Semen Padang to grow in confidence and consistency before returning to Bandung stronger and more experienced.
