Bernardeschi Returns to Serie A as Bologna Secure Experienced Winger

Federico Bernardeschi has officially returned to Italian football after spending three years in Major League Soccer. The 31-year-old winger has signed a two-year contract with Bologna, marking a significant move for both the player and the club as they aim to strengthen their squad with experience and versatility on the wings.
Bernardeschi joined Bologna on a permanent deal after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Toronto FC, which was originally set to run until 2026. His return to Serie A brings him back to familiar territory where he previously built his reputation with notable Italian clubs.
During his stint in MLS, Bernardeschi made 99 appearances for Toronto FC, recording 26 goals and 16 assists. Despite playing outside Europe, he maintained solid performance levels, showcasing his ability to contribute both as a scorer and creator, which Bologna hopes to capitalize on in the upcoming season.
Before moving to North America, Bernardeschi played for Juventus, where he made 183 appearances and contributed to several domestic successes. Now, as he rejoins Serie A with Bologna, the club sees him as a valuable addition capable of providing both leadership and offensive firepower as they prepare for a competitive campaign.
