Indonesian Defender Justin Hubner Joins Fortuna Sittard on Two-Year Deal
Justin Hubner, a promising defender from the Indonesian national team, is reported to have officially signed a two-year contract with Eredivisie club Fortuna Sittard. The club, which finished 11th in the 2024–25 season, sees Hubner as a key addition to their defensive lineup. His arrival marks a significant move as Fortuna Sittard continues to strengthen their squad for the upcoming competitions.

Hubner, previously part of Wolverhampton Wanderers' U-21 squad, brings a mix of youth and experience to the Dutch side. Despite limited exposure with Wolves’ senior team, he is recognized for his physical presence, aerial strength, and composure with the ball. Standing at 187 cm, his left-footed style and strong mentality are expected to boost Fortuna Sittard’s backline, which had room for reinforcement.

This transfer also confirms Hubner’s decision to continue his professional career in Europe, despite earlier rumors suggesting a possible move to clubs in Indonesia’s Liga 1 or Malaysia’s Super League. He quickly dismissed those speculations and remained committed to staying in European football, which ultimately materialized with the Fortuna Sittard deal.

The Dutch-born defender previously had a short stint with Japanese club Cerezo Osaka but never made an appearance for Wolverhampton’s first team, despite being called up for a Premier League match against Arsenal in late 2023. With his move to Fortuna Sittard, Hubner now aims to secure regular playing time, which is crucial not only for his club career but also to maintain his role in Indonesia’s national team defense.
