Leeds United and West Ham Compete to Sign Artem Dovbyk as AS Roma Opens Transfer Door

Artem Dovbyk, the Ukrainian striker currently with AS Roma, has attracted interest from two Premier League clubs, Leeds United and West Ham United, as the Italian club looks to sell him this summer. Dovbyk joined Roma just last season from Girona for a significant transfer fee, following an impressive scoring run that made him La Liga’s top scorer in the 2023-24 season. However, his goal tally in Serie A has been less prolific, prompting Roma to consider moving him on.
During his first season at Roma, Dovbyk struggled to consistently find the back of the net, scoring only 12 goals in 32 appearances. Roma’s management is now aiming to strengthen their attack with a sharper striker, and selling Dovbyk is part of that strategy. The club has already brought in Evan Ferguson on loan, but he is primarily seen as a replacement for Tammy Abraham, who moved to Besiktas.
Leeds and West Ham are reportedly preparing to enter negotiations to acquire Dovbyk, with both clubs keen to boost their attacking options ahead of the new Premier League campaign. Roma’s transfer plans also include pursuing Rasmus Hojlund, who previously played under Roma’s coach Gian Piero Gasperini at Atalanta. Hojlund’s future at Manchester United is uncertain amid speculation over potential new signings for the English club.
This summer’s transfer window appears set for a busy period for Roma as they look to reshape their forward line while Premier League teams vie for talent. Dovbyk’s potential move to England marks a new chapter for the striker, while Roma targets a proven goal scorer to bolster their Serie A ambitions.
