Allegri Set to Reunite with Rabiot in AC Milan’s Late Transfer Move

AC Milan is on the verge of signing Adrien Rabiot as the summer transfer window nears its close in 2025. Initially not on Milan’s radar, the French midfielder became a target after being sidelined by Marseille following a conflict with a teammate. Seeing an opportunity, Milan moved quickly to pursue Rabiot, whose contract with Marseille expires in mid-2026, allowing the club to negotiate a relatively low transfer fee.
The move is strongly supported by AC Milan’s coach Massimiliano Allegri, who previously worked with Rabiot at Juventus. During their three seasons together, Rabiot was a key player, making over a hundred appearances. Milan facilitated the signing by offloading Yunus Musah to Atalanta, freeing up space in the midfield, and accelerated talks with Marseille, reaching an agreement reportedly worth around 10 million euros including bonuses, well below Rabiot’s market value.
Rabiot is expected to sign a four-year contract with Milan, earning an estimated 4.5 to 5 million euros per season. Due to the tight timeline before the transfer deadline, his medical examinations will take place in France rather than Italy. Milan’s transfer activities continue with other deals in progress, including player sales and potential signings, though some high-profile moves like acquiring Joe Gomez and arranging a striker swap seem unlikely.
Despite the ongoing transfer buzz, Milan remains focused on strengthening the squad while managing player departures and arrivals. Rabiot’s arrival marks an important reunion and shows the club’s ambition to reinforce their midfield with experienced talent ahead of the upcoming season.
