Premier League Splashes Nearly €300 Million on Serie A Talent in 2025 Summer Transfer Window

During the 2025 summer transfer window, Premier League clubs invested heavily in Serie A players, spending close to €300 million to bolster their squads. This ongoing trend highlights the English league’s appetite for Italian talent, with several high-profile and promising players making the move to England. Among the new arrivals, some are expected to play key roles in the Premier League title race, showcasing the growing influence of Serie A on English football.
The most expensive transfer was Tijjani Reijnders’ move from AC Milan to Manchester City, valued at €55 million and potentially rising beyond €70 million with add-ons. Liverpool also made a significant signing by acquiring defender Giovanni Leoni from Parma for €31 million, emphasizing their confidence in his potential despite his young age. Leoni’s early training sessions with Liverpool showed that he has the maturity and skill level to quickly adapt to the Premier League environment.
In total, 15 players transferred from Serie A to Premier League clubs, including notable deals like Dan Ndoye’s €42 million move from Bologna and Malick Thiaw’s €35 million transfer from Milan. Another key transfer was Enzo Le Fee’s permanent move to Sunderland from Roma for €23 million, following a successful loan period in England. This influx of players underscores how Serie A remains a fertile ground for talent scouting by English clubs.
Other players such as Noha Okafor, Jaka Bijol, Michael Kaoyde,and Samuel Chukwueze also joined Premier League sides, either on permanent deals or loans.
