Marselino Ferdinan Loaned from Oxford United to Slovak Club AS Trencin

Oxford United has officially confirmed the loan of Indonesian midfielder Marselino Ferdinan to Slovak First Football League club AS Trencin. The 20-year-old player will spend the remainder of the 2025-26 season in Slovakia, aiming to gain valuable first-team experience and continue his professional development. This move reflects Oxford’s intention to provide Marselino with more playing time at a competitive level.
Marselino joined Oxford United last summer after transferring from Belgian club KMSK Deinze. During his time with Oxford, he made history as the first Indonesian-born player to appear in the Sky Bet Championship, coming off the bench in the final match of the 2024-25 season against Swansea City. His milestone highlighted his growing presence in European football and his potential to make an impact.
AS Trencin, where Marselino will continue his career, is a mid-table team in Slovakia and has previously been home to another Indonesian player, Witan Sulaeman. The club completed all administrative procedures for the loan, and Marselino is expected to join the team soon after finishing his commitments with the Indonesian national team during the FIFA Matchday in September 2025.
Oxford United extended their best wishes for Marselino’s success in Slovakia, hoping the loan spell will help him develop further and enhance his skills. This opportunity offers Marselino a fresh challenge and the chance to prove himself in a new league, contributing to both his club career and international prospects.
