AC Milan Eyes January Move to Sign Juventus Striker Vlahovic

AC Milan is reportedly planning to renew their pursuit of striker Dusan Vlahovic during the upcoming January transfer window after failing to secure him in the recent summer market. Vlahovic, whose contract with Juventus expires in June 2026, remains a key target for the Rossoneri, especially as the player is entering the final year of his deal with the Serie A club. Previous talks between Milan and Juventus over a possible transfer last summer did not result in an agreement, leaving Vlahovic still at Allianz Stadium.
Despite his current role as a backup to Juventus’ main striker Jonathan David, Vlahovic has maintained a decent scoring record, netting two goals as a substitute in the first two matches of the 2025-26 Serie A season. This continued contribution highlights his potential value, even though his market price remains high, estimated at around €35 million according to Transfermarkt. This figure poses a significant challenge for Milan, who are without European competition this season and face financial constraints.
Another major hurdle for Milan is Vlahovic’s substantial wage demands, reportedly around €12 million per season. Juventus themselves have been unwilling to match this salary in contract renewal talks, which contributed to the ongoing uncertainty around the player’s future. For Milan, meeting these financial terms is difficult, especially considering their current budget limitations without the boost from European matches.
As the January transfer window approaches, AC Milan appears ready to reignite their efforts to bring Vlahovic to San Siro, but they will need to navigate both the high transfer fee and salary expectations. How this negotiation unfolds could significantly impact Milan’s attacking options and Juventus’ plans for the striker, who remains an important player despite his secondary role.
