Persija Moves to Secure Rizky Ridho with Contract Extension

Persija Jakarta is set to negotiate a contract extension with Rizky Ridho this week, as confirmed by the club’s Sports Director, Bambang Pamungkas. Bepe, as he is popularly known, plans to meet directly with Ridho and his agent to finalize discussions and ensure the national team defender remains with the club.

The urgency comes as Rizky Ridho’s current contract is set to expire at the end of this season. Persija is determined to prevent him from exploring opportunities with other clubs and has already begun taking steps to secure his future with the team. Bepe expressed strong confidence that Ridho will accept the extension offer, highlighting his importance to the squad over the past two seasons.

Since joining Persija from Persebaya Surabaya in 2023, Rizky Ridho has been a key figure in the team’s defense and has served as captain. His consistent performances and leadership on the field have made him a central figure in the club, and he appears settled and committed to staying in Jakarta.

Bepe emphasized the long-term vision for Rizky Ridho, hoping he will remain with Persija until the club celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2028. Despite past interest from overseas clubs, no formal offers have materialized, and Persija sees Ridho as essential to leading the team toward future championships, including guiding the squad during its centennial season.
