Borussia Monchengladbach Dismisses Coach Gerardo Seoane After Poor Start

Borussia Monchengladbach has officially parted ways with head coach Gerardo Seoane ahead of schedule. The club decided to act sooner than planned, moving forward with his dismissal before the match against Bayer Leverkusen that was initially expected to determine his future. The decision was made on 15 September following a string of disappointing results.
Seoane, who took charge of Gladbach in the summer of 2023, struggled to deliver consistent performances. Under his leadership, the team averaged only 1.22 points per game, failed to score in five consecutive matches, and went ten games without a win. The situation reached its lowest point with a 4-0 home defeat to Werder Bremen in the third week of the 2025-26 Bundesliga season.
The club’s management saw no signs of improvement and chose to cut ties immediately rather than prolonging the uncertainty. The heavy defeat to Bremen underscored the growing frustration within the squad and among supporters, as the once-promising start under Seoane had completely unraveled.
Attention now turns to the search for a new coach who can stabilize the team and restore its competitive edge. The upcoming appointment will be crucial in shaping Gladbach’s response to their current slump and in providing a fresh approach for players like Kevin Diks and his teammates.
