Indonesian Duo Asnawi and Shayne Pattynama Earn Spots in Thailand League’s Best XI

The Thai League released its Best XI for the fifth week of the 2025/2026 season, featuring two Indonesian internationals: Asnawi Mangkualam and Shayne Pattynama. Their inclusion highlights the growing impact of Indonesian players in Southeast Asia’s competitive football scene.
Asnawi secured his place after an outstanding display for Port FC in a 3-0 win over Chonburi at the PAT Stadium. The 25-year-old defender played the full 90 minutes, maintaining composure at the back and contributing to a clean sheet that helped his team climb to fifth place in the standings. His solid performance earned him the man of the match award, underlining his importance even without direct goal contributions.
Shayne Pattynama also stood out for Buriram United in their away match against Bangkok United. Starting from the opening whistle, he delivered an early cross that led to the first goal of the game within eight minutes. Buriram went on to secure a 2-1 victory, with Shayne completing the match and reinforcing his value as a key player on the flank.
In the Best XI lineup, Shayne occupied the left wing-back position while Asnawi was placed at left-back despite being naturally a right-sided defender. Their versatility and consistency not only strengthened their respective clubs but also showcased the adaptability and quality of Indonesian players competing at a high level in the Thai League.
