Kobbie Mainoo Seeks Loan Move from Manchester United to Boost Playing Time

Kobbie Mainoo has reportedly asked Manchester United to arrange a loan move to another club during the upcoming January transfer window. The young midfielder has struggled for regular minutes under manager Ruben Amorim, particularly due to the 3-4-3 formation that favors established players like Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Manuel Ugarte in central midfield.
Mainoo’s dissatisfaction has been growing since the summer, when he previously requested a transfer or loan, attracting interest from clubs including Napoli, though United rejected the request at that time. His limited playing time at Old Trafford has left him on the sidelines despite his potential.
The midfielder recently revisited the issue with Amorim, emphasizing his desire for a loan move to secure regular first-team football. Mainoo aims to maintain his chances of receiving a call-up from the England national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Currently, he has not been selected by England manager Thomas Tuchel, who cites Mainoo’s lack of club appearances as a barrier to international inclusion. A loan move is seen as a crucial step for the midfielder to regain form and visibility at the international level.
