Joshua Zirkzee Draws Interest from Juventus and AC Milan After Struggles at Manchester United

Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly attracting attention from Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan following a difficult spell at Manchester United. The 24-year-old has found himself on the fringes of the squad under manager Ruben Amorim, featuring sparingly in the early stages of the Premier League season. With United entering the international break mid-table, the striker’s limited involvement has fueled speculation about a potential move in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Zirkzee’s situation has worsened since the arrival of Benjamin Sesko, who has taken on a more prominent attacking role and recently found the net in United’s 2–0 win over Sunderland. Amorim appears to favor using players like Mason Mount in advanced positions when rotating his forward line, leaving Zirkzee with minimal playing time. So far, he has accumulated just 77 minutes in the league, signaling that he has slipped down the pecking order.
Despite making 49 appearances last season and contributing seven goals and two assists, Zirkzee struggled to secure a consistent starting role. His performances were not drastically worse than other United forwards, many of whom also failed to impress during the previous campaign. However, with the club out of European competitions and already eliminated from the EFL Cup, opportunities for fringe players to gain minutes have become even scarcer.
The lack of game time has prompted interest from Italy, with both Juventus and AC Milan reportedly monitoring his situation closely. A January move could offer Zirkzee a chance to revive his career in Serie A, where his technical ability and movement might better suit the tactical style of Italian football. For United, his departure could open up space in the squad while allowing the player to seek regular football elsewhere.
