Zidane Eyes Coaching Return, but National Team Role Takes Priority Over Juventus

Zinedine Zidane has expressed his intention to return to coaching after a four-year hiatus, signaling a renewed desire to step back into the professional arena. Despite strong links to club roles, particularly with his former team Juventus, he suggested that a return to Turin is unlikely under current circumstances. His focus appears to be shifting toward a different challenge on the international stage.

During an appearance at the Festival dello Sport in Trento, Zidane reflected on his past experiences, including his time in Italy and his successful tenure at Real Madrid. He spoke about the defining relationships he built with elite players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modrić, and Karim Benzema, highlighting how those years shaped his coaching identity. Although fond of Juventus and appreciative of the role the club played in his career, he hinted that his ambitions now lie elsewhere.

Since departing Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane has remained away from the touchline despite having won three Champions League titles. His absence has fueled ongoing speculation about his next move, with several European clubs frequently linked to him. However, he remains patient, choosing to wait for an opportunity that aligns with his long-term vision rather than rushing back into club management.

Looking ahead, Zidane admitted that leading a national team is an aspiration he hopes to fulfill one day. While not imminent, he views international management as a natural progression in his career. Although he did not name a specific team, his preference suggests that his next chapter may unfold on the global stage rather than in week-to-week club competition.
